2. The data we collect

• Account & contact: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed), role, chosen language.
• Profile: for coaches — bio, specialisms, photo, working hours; for students — goals and skill level.
• Bookings & lessons: the lessons you book, lesson notes, packages and credits.
• Payments: transaction and booking history. Card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number.
• Location: if you allow it, your device location is used to find nearby courses and coaches. You can turn this off in your device settings.
• User content: posts, reviews, and any content you submit.
• Device & usage: push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and basic technical data needed to run the Service.

3. How we use your data & our lawful bases

• To provide the Service — creating your account, taking bookings and payments, enabling coaching (lawful basis: performance of a contract).
• To communicate with you — booking confirmations, reminders, and service messages (contract / legitimate interests).
• To keep the Service safe — moderating content, preventing fraud and abuse (legitimate interests, legal obligation).
• Marketing — only where you have opted in (consent); you can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal compliance — meeting our tax, accounting and legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

• Coaches & academies you book with (your name, contact and booking details), so they can deliver your lesson.
• Stripe — to process payments and coach payouts.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate and store the Service securely.
• Apple, Google and Expo — to deliver push notifications you have enabled.
• Geoapify / OpenStreetMap — for address search and maps (queries only; © OpenStreetMap contributors).
• Authorities or advisers — where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some providers (e.g. Stripe) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations (e.g. financial records). When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account), we anonymise or remove your personal data promptly, retaining only what the law requires (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You can delete your account directly in the app. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. Where under-18s use the Service, it should be with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

10. Cookies & tracking

The app does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not collect an advertising identifier. Our website uses only the cookies strictly necessary to operate it.
